Frequently Asked Questions
About Race Home
What is Race Home?
Race Home creates shared race-weekend experiences where people stay under one roof, eat together, travel together, and support one another around organised races. The aim is to make race weekend feel calmer, more connected, and more human.
Is Race Home a race organiser?
No. Race Home does not organise races. We build the experience around existing, organised events. We can enter you for the race as well, or you’ll need to register separately for the race itself.
Booking & Places
How many people stay at each Race Home?
Groups are deliberately small, typically 8–10 people, to keep the experience personal, relaxed, and welcoming.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Many guests travel solo. Race Home is designed for people coming alone or in pairs, and you’ll be welcomed as part of the group from the moment you arrive.
Can I come with a friend or partner?
Absolutely. Friends and partners are welcome, as long as both of you are participating in the race weekend.
Do you offer private rooms?
Most rooms are shared unless stated otherwise. If limited private rooms are available, this will be clearly shown on the event page.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Yes. Each weekend has a minimum number of guests required to run. If this number isn’t reached, you’ll be notified in advance and offered a full refund or alternative options.
Fitness Levels & Experience
Do I need to be fast or experienced?
No. Race Home is inclusive of all paces and experience levels. Everyone runs their own race. Community and support come first.
Is Race Home suitable for first-time racers?
Yes. Many people find Race Home especially helpful for their first trail race or ultra, as it removes much of the stress around logistics and travel.
Are the weekends suitable for ultra-distance events?
Yes, where stated. Some weekends are designed specifically around longer or overnight events. These will be clearly described on the event page.
Accommodation & Facilities
What are the houses like?
We choose comfortable, well-located houses with shared spaces that support rest, connection, and recovery. Final details and arrival information are shared after booking.
What should I bring?
You’ll receive a detailed packing list before the weekend, but generally you’ll need:
Your race kit and personal gear
Comfortable clothes for downtime
Any personal nutrition or recovery items you rely on
Food & Dietary Requirements
What kind of food is provided?
Meals are athlete-led and designed for race weekends — simple, nourishing, and practical. Expect good breakfasts, carb-focused dinners, snacks, and hot drinks.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. After booking, you’ll be asked about dietary needs and allergies so we can plan accordingly.
Transport & Logistics
Is transport included?
Yes. Transport is provided for:
Pick-ups and drop-offs from local train stations
Travel to and from the race start/finish
Details vary by event and will be explained on the product page.
What if I’m driving myself?
That’s fine. Parking and meeting-point details will be shared in advance.
Payments & Cancellations
What’s included in the price?
Each Race Home Weekend typically includes:
Accommodation
Meals and snacks
Transport and logistics
Race Home support throughout the weekend
What’s included will always be clearly listed on the event page.
Is race entry included?
No. Race entry must be booked separately with the race organiser. We can help with this.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are shown at checkout. If you need to cancel, please let us know as early as possible. If Race Home needs to cancel a weekend, you’ll receive a full refund.
Can I transfer my place?
In some cases, yes — subject to approval and timing. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss this.
Before & During the Weekend
Will there be a schedule?
Yes. You’ll receive a clear itinerary before the weekend so you know what to expect, while still keeping things relaxed and flexible.
Will there be pressure to socialise?
No. Community is there if you want it, but rest and personal space are always respected.
Is Race Home insured?
Yes. Appropriate insurance is in place for Race Home activities. Race participation itself is covered by the race organiser.
